2023 Elections: Redistribution of polling units effected to reduce congestion – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Chair, Professor Mahmood Yakubu has explained voter redistribution, saying that it’s not intentional to disenfranchise anybody.

Recall that many eligible voters have complained that they are unable to trace their polling units in many centers across the country.

However, the INEC chair has advised anyone who cannot locate his/her polling units to send messages to help lines provided by INEC.

He added that Voting still continues and anyone who finds himself in such situation should still try and vote.

Yakub noted that INEC officials will tarry a bit to ensure that every eligible voter is allowed to vote.

Similarly, he apologised on behalf of the body on late arrival of INEC officials in some areas, saying it was due to circumstances beyond their control.
