Ahead of the 2023 guber elections coming up in Imo state the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the names of gubernatorial candidates who will be contesting the elections.
INEC is expected to conduct off-cycle elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states later in the year.

Ifeanyichukwu noted that Anyanwu, a former Senator and incumbent PDP National Secretary, “is well prepared for the task ahead”.

The PDP announced a Manifesto/Strategic Communication Committee to “articulate a people-oriented programmes”.
The statement urged INEC, security agencies and other stakeholders to ensure a level-playing field for a free and fair exercise.
Anyanwu, a two-term Imo House of Assembly member, has vowed to unseat Governor Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, INEC published the names and particulars of Labour Party (LP) candidates produced by the Julius Abure-led faction.
