Victor Osimhen grabbed a brace after scoring in the 19th and the 32nd minute of the encounter to put the Super Eagles in a vantage position.
Mustapha Bundu pulled one back in the 41st minute to end proceedings 2-1 at the end of first half.
Upon resumption of the second half, the Leone stars pushed for an equalizer and it soon paid off when Augustus Kargbo scored for the home team on 84th minute to put scores at 2-2 and revive the hope of qualification for the Sierra Leoneans.
But Kelechi Iheanacho had a different thought when he lashed on to a cross from Super Eagles right full back, Zaidu Sanusi in the dying minute of the encounter to give the Super Eagles the winner and AFCON ticket.
