READ: ISAIAH 43:16-21

MEDITATION VERSE

“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19).

To envision is to build up an image of a desired future. Envisioning is imagining  or visualizing a future possibility. It is receiving a revelation of new possibilities.  Abraham envisioned his greatness before it happened. “And the Lord said to  Abram, after Lot had separated from him, “Lift your eyes now and look from the  place where you are – northward, southward, eastward, and westward, for all  the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. And I will  make your descendants as the dust of the earth, so that if a man could number  the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. Arise, walk  in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you” (Gen 13:14-17).

Envisioning is a spiritual as well as a psychological concept. The power behind it  is that we become what we see because the brain is a pattern matching organ.  What it sees it wills the body towards. The brain captures a picture of what you  have seen and creates a hunger for it within you. This hunger becomes the  motivation that drives your actions. When God was leading the children of Israel  to the promised land, He repeatedly told them that the land was beautiful and  good, flowing with milk and honey. He was creating a hunger in them that would  enable them take possession of the land, despite opposition from its previous  inhabitants. It is difficult to keep pursuing what you have no strong desire for,  as you are likely to give up at the slightest challenge.

Are you currently stuck in a place of pain, shame, or regret? Do you desire a  fresh start in life? Or are you simply tired of remaining in the same place? Why  not begin to envision a new beginning? Here’s God’s promise to you: “Do not  remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a  new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a  road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:18-19).
