[Devotional] IN HIS PRESENCE: Increase comes from God

[Devotional] IN HIS PRESENCE: Are you suffering from short cord syndrome? (2)

Read: Psalm 133:1-3

Meditation verse:

“Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as is the manner of some,  but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day  approaching” (Hebrews 10:25).

You are not meant to run the Christian race alone. We are meant to belong to a  local church, where we can fellowship with other believers. Acts 2:46-47 says,  “so continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from  house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church  daily those who were being saved”. Psalm 133:1-3 says, “Behold, how good and  how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious  oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running  down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon  the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing—Life  forevermore”.

Belonging to a local assembly provides you with an opportunity to be part of a  family of God’ people where you can worship God and fellowship with people  who share your faith. We are social beings, created to do life with others. You  will also hear God’s word and be established in it. Your church family can provide you with support and friendship in times of need. Your local assembly can also  provide a platform for you to serve with the gifts that God has given to you, for  the edification of every member. (Ephesians 4:11).

Do not isolate yourself, no matter how justified you may feel. The bible talks about the lone sheep that is a prime target for the wolf. The enemy knows that  it is easier to reach you when you are alone. So, be a part of a local assembly. Proverbs 27:17 says, “as iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance  of his friend”.
