Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Aderibigbe better known Ayra Starr, has won the ‘Best International Act’ (the first African female to win the prize) and ‘Best African Music Act’ (the first female to win the prize in 16 years).
The ceremony, which holds annually to honour achievements in “music of black origin,” took place on Wednesday in Newcastle, United Kingdom.
Aside, Starr who won two prestigious awards at the 2025 MOBO Awards, Darkoo, the Nigerian-British rapper, also cliched the ‘Best Female Act’ while Central Cee won the male category.
90sbabyshow, the three-man podcast, won the ‘Best Media Personality’ category while Odeal, the Nigerian-born singer, claimed the ‘Best Newcomer’ award.
