Nigerian singer and music executive Naira Marley, whose real name is Azeez Fashola, has shared a reassuring Islamic teaching with his fans and followers, particularly those observing the holy month of Ramadan.
In a recent post, Naira Marley referenced a fundamental principle in Islam, which states that if an individual unintentionally eats or drinks while fasting, their fast remains valid. This guidance is rooted in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, providing comfort to those who may accidentally break their fast.
He wrote: “If somebody eats or drinks forgetfully, then he should complete his fast, for what he has eaten or drunk was given to him by Allah.”
Naira Marley’s message urged Muslims to be gentle with themselves if they forget and inadvertently break their fast before the designated time.
He encouraged them to continue fasting for the remainder of the day, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and self-compassion during the sacred month of Ramadan.
