BREAKING: Protesters “gathering storm” in Abuja over arrest of VeryDarkMan

Protesters are currently gathering on top of Dantata bridge in Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT), to protest against the arrest and continued detention of Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the protesters were seen in their numbers holding placards bearing inscription such as “#ReleaseVDM” and “#FreeVDM”, same hashtags trending on social media since the arrest of the activist.

Recall that VDM was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at a branch of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) in Abuja on May 2 on allegations of cyberstalking.

He had visited the GTB branch, where he complained about alleged unauthorised deduction of funds from his mother’s account.

It was gathered that the protesters are waiting on top of the bridge to build up numbers and march to the headquarters of the EFCC, located around that area.

Meanwhile, protesters have also gathered at the GTB branch in Area 3, where VDM was arrested, to stage similar protest.
