APC chieftain Jesutega Onokpasa is dead

Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent lawyer and political analyst known for his vocal commentary and deep involvement in the All Progressives Congress (APC), has died.

TheNewsGuru reports that pro-APC campaigner, Okezie J. Atañi,  via his social media account on Tuesday announced the sad development.

As at the filing of this report, Onokpasa’s cause of death remains unknown, his passing has however sent shocking waves within political circles.

Until his death, Onokpasa was a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2023 general election, where he served on the party’s Publicity Committee.

He was well known for his strong defense of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, frequently appearing on national television to promote and explain the administration’s policies.

However, in a recent and unexpected turn of events, the lawyer publicly withdrew his support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

He cited worsening insecurity, deepening economic hardship, and the administration’s alleged neglect of loyal party members as reasons for his change in stance. As of the time of this report, the APC has yet to issue an official statement regarding his passing.
