Pastor Paul Enenche, founder and senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has publicly rejected a N30 million donation from the Kebbi State Government during a recent crusade.
During the event, which held at the Haliru Abdu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi, a government official came to the stage to announce the donation on behalf of the state governor, Nasir Idris.
Addressing the audience, the representative said: “Our Governor, the people’s governor, had graciously approved the donation of the sum of N30 million to this gathering.
“That is to the organising committee. Which you know that whenever His Excellency made a donation, he do not leave without bringing that donation in cash.”
However, Pastor Becky Enenche, wife of the senior pastor responded with a firm no, before the crowd.
Despite her interjection, the announcer continued: “Before I leave this place, I want to present that N30 Million in cash.”
Shortly afterward, Paul Enenche addressed the situation directly, explaining the church’s stance on financial propriety:
“We believe government money should be used for government project, and government things, and church money should be used for church things, not mixed together,” he said.
