You are a nuisance to Christianity – Popular comedian blasts Jeremiah Fufeyin

Popular Nigerian comedian Ekene Clinton Egbuna, widely known as Klintoncod, has publicly criticised Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, accusing him of exploiting his followers by selling so-called miracle products.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Klintoncod labeled the controversial cleric a “nuisance to Christianity,” and argued that in a law-abiding society, Fufeyin would either be imprisoned or placed in a mental health institution.

The comedian questioned the legitimacy of Fufeyin’s spiritual claims, likening his actions to fraud. He lamented that such practices have driven many away from the Christian faith.

Are we going to keep pretending that this man, Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, is not a nuisance to Christianity? As I speak, he’s probably deceiving more people. He claims to be a man of God, but I don’t see the difference between him and a convicted fraudster,” Klintoncod stated.

He specifically condemned the sale of a product allegedly promoted by Fufeyin, packaged sand sealed in plastic with the prophet’s image, which was claimed to bring divine assistance in building houses. The comedian expressed disbelief at the willingness of people to buy into such claims, calling the congregation “gullible” for following and revering the cleric.

“This man sells items, telling people that if they buy them, God will perform miracles. Now he’s selling sand, claiming it will help people build houses. And people actually believe him—they stand when he speaks and call him ‘Papa,’” he said.

Klintoncod went further to criticise the general state of religious awareness in Nigeria, saying, “Tinubu or APC is not our problem; Nigerians are the problem. This man is one of the reasons people have lost faith and stopped going to church.”

He concluded his remarks by reiterating that such individuals should face legal or psychiatric evaluation if proper societal systems were in place.
