Fegho Umunubo, the Special Assistant to the Office of Vice President, Kashim Shettima on Digital and Creative Economy was on Monday, September 8th 2025, was sacked from office, the presidency announced.
In a statement signed by the State House Director of Information and Public Relations, Abiodun Oladunjoye, the Presidency warned stakeholders in the sector and the general public not to engage Umunobo in any capacity on behalf of the administration.
The statement read, “Stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy, at home and abroad, as well as the general public, are hereby notified that FEGHO JOHN UMUNUBO, who hitherto had served as the Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy (Office of the Vice President), has been disengaged with immediate effect.
“Kindly note that he no longer represents this administration in any capacity. Henceforth, anyone who interfaces with him in the name of President Tinubu’s administration does so at his or her own risk.
“We urge all stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy to be so guided.”
Though the notice did not disclose reasons for his removal, sources within the Villa told journalists that Umunobo’s disengagement followed multiple reports of alleged financial misconduct.
