Nigerian communities in SA will fly one flag, says NUSA President

Nigerian Communities in South Africa will fly one flag to foster social cohesion, Mr Adetola Olubajo, the President, Nigeria Union, South Africa (NUSA), has said.

Olubajo told the News Agency of Nigeria in Pretoria, South Africa, on Sunday that Nigerians would achieve nothing if they worked in isolation.

“We cannot work in isolation. The Nigerian communities in South Africa should be more united to foster social cohesion. It is important we work together.

“We have one flag as Nigerians, and for us to survive as a group, we must be in peace and harmony, united and strong.

“Love as one people and one nation should always rule in whatever we do,” Olubajo, who was elected as NUSA president on Sept. 2, said.

He said that the union had started engaging some Nigerian communities and would soon reach out to others to achieve the desired results.

“The union will continue to work with organisations it had been working with and will engage the new ones.

“In my acceptance speech, I said the union will engage all organisations and government organisations of Nigerian origin to achieve the set objectives.

“We want to accomplish this in the next two months,” the NUSA president said.

Olubajo said that the union was not happy with multiple organisations created from one community.

“ If there are misunderstandings among them, they should resolve it.

“There is need to unite under one umbrella so that we can have the strength to drive whatever we want to achieve,” he said.
