Here is to call your attention to our new columnist, Iheukwumere Duru, whose first piece will be published in TheNewsGuru.com on 26th of April, 2018.
Duru is a retired United Nations official. He holds a Master’s degree in French Philology, French Literature and English Literature from the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Grenoble in France.
Since he retired from the United Nations in December 2007 after more than twenty seven years of service, he has devoted his time to the study of the process of economic integration in Africa in general, and West Africa in particular, focusing on legal issues such as the harmonisation of national laws and technical standards, the free movement of legal services within the Economic Community, enforcement of Community legal instruments both at the national level and at the Community level, etc.
His first paper in this area entitled: “ECOWAS: Regional Integration through Legal Integration” was published in a Nigerian newspaper in August.
