“My new movie ‘200 Million’ was inspired by current happenings in Nigeria ,the fate of the average young Nigeria being the unemployed youth in relation to money, religion and politics.”
The movie features the comedian alongside Frank Donga, Woli Arole, Chigurl, Basorge Tariah, Alibaba, Mercy Aigbe, Samuel Ajibola, Saka, Yaw and a host of others.
When asked about how the federal government has contributed to Nollywood, Owen Gee asserted that Nollywood will thrive with or without the government’s involvement.
According to him: “Nollywood will thrive with or without FG’s involvement, Nollywood got to where it is with the selfless commitment of a few result driven actors and marketers. However our leaders in power need to harness and tap into the huge potentials that the industry brings into the country .See what Hollywood is making for America and we have followed that path with Nollywood making huge figures at the cinemas.
“We need to work together, FG needs to take entertainment seriously, create a solid ministry for it and provide funding, technical support and training”.
