Budding Afropop duo,IML which consists of Singz IML and Phziesong IML have revealed how the legendary Fela Kuti inspires them.
According to them:” The Legendary Abami Eda makes us true to ourselves as Africans and we are inspired by his authenticity, passion for his craft and ability to speak against injustice.”
The zeal and passion to succeed and become relevant with their unique sound and voice has kept them going amidst numerous challenges. They started doing music as children who would always attend different singing competitions from schools to schools .
As undergraduates of Ekiti State University ,they are the initiators of Ekiti State Industry night (EKSIN) which is a talent development platform for budding singers and entertainers.
Their greatest inspiration is fuelled by their exposure to songs and sounds of music legends such as Fela Anikolapo Kuti,Wayne Wonder and Tuface Idibia.
They are driven by the desire to be different and to make a positive impact in the Nigerian music firmament
