
Before her death, Abimbola starred in movies like Tomi Teje, Kani, Angela Mao,Kamson and Neighbours ,So Wright So Wrong, Omoge Campus, among others.
On how she got the role, Abimbola said the producer, Bola Agida who had watched one of the movies she starred in, specifically requested for her.
According to her:” I was told the producer of ‘Omoge Campus’ Kola Agida, was looking for me. I was curious because I hadn’t met him before then. I eventually starred in the movie, It was not by my power but by the grace of God”, she revealed in an interview.
‘Omoge Campus’ features actors like Foluke Daramola, late Moji Olaiya, Jide Kosoko, Rachel Oniga, Faithia Balogun, Sewa Coker, Rita Kosoko, Jibola Dabo, Dele Odule among others.
Blessed with an intimidating height and unapproachable on-screen persona, Abimbola undoubtedly became the go-to actress when it comes to playing ‘Margaret Thatcher’ roles in Yoruba movies.
Through the movie, the talented actress who played the role of Sade, ringleader of a cult initiated to protect women from all kinds of harassment in the university, became a household name by intensely depicting the character.
To achieve their objective, the members of the cult – all young ladies are instructed to have three men in their lives: a boyfriend who they could get married to, a sugar daddy to cater to their financial needs, and a lecturer for academic favours.
‘Omoge Campus’ redefined the career of Aisha Abimbola and went on to become her brand name in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood.
