Big Brother didn’t make me who I am-Alex, Ex-housemate

Big Brother Naija, reality star, Alexandra Asogwa AKA Alex, has stated that she went into depression on two occasions after participating in the reality TV show.

The passionate dancer made this known in a chat with Ndani TV.

”I have had to deal with my depressing state twice after I left the reality show.

”The first one was when I came back from South Africa. I had plans of going to my aunt’s house from the airport. At the airport, they were keeping us somewhere with security, then I heard some people wanted to beat me and I was confused.

“After that, they took me to a room and at least 10 people came to say they were my mum just because they wanted to see me.

”When my mum finally came, I laid on the floor and it was dramatic but no one understood what I was going through. When I was about to enter the car, my mum was trying to cover me and someone was pulling my hair, it was so hard.

”I went into depression the week after all these happened. I had to deal with people saying I was not laughing like a celebrity, I also had to deal with been compared with others”.

Speaking further, Alex debunked claims that the Big Brother platform made her who she is.

In her words: “When you come out of BBNaija people feel like they own you. They will be like they voted for you and they should be able to tell you what to do. You cannot come out and tell me BBNaija made me who I am, I will never agree. Because before Big Brother, I was somebody and I went in there and came out a better person. Big Brother improved on who I am, Big Brother did not make me who I am.What I did with the Big Brother platform is what is making me who I am.Big Brother was more like a partnership. I give you content, you give me a platform. It was a very significant part of my life. People try to make it look like if you didn’t go for Big Brother you will never make it in life”.

Alex also added that you can come out of the Big Brother house a broke person.

“You can be rich before Big Brother from the house and be broke when you come out”.
