The recently crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina has been ranked second in the world’s Miss Universe pre-arrival hot picks ahead of the grand event.
This was disclosed in a viral pre-arrival poll on Tuesday. The 23 year old beauty queen was ranked ahead of the 73rd edition of the global Miss Universe pageant on November 16, 2024.
With 11 days left in the countdown for the 73rd Miss Universe 2024, Nigerian-born South African model Chidinma Adetshina is already making Nigeria proud.
The Miss Universe Nigeria beauty queen arrived Mexico a few days ago to contest with other models across the world for the Miss Universe crown on November 16.
Interestingly, the news of Chidimma Adetshina’s position has thrilled Nigerians, who believe that there is a good chance she could win.
Chidimma is a South African beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, after withdrawing from Miss Universe South Africa due to her dual citizenship. She is now representing Nigeria at the Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico.
Her participation in the Miss South Africa pageant faced criticism due to questions about her citizenship and eligibility. A lot of concerns were raised in regard to her dual citizenship of South Africa and Nigeria, leading the South African Department of Home Affairs to investigate her background.
The investigation allegedly disclosed preliminary evidence suggesting potential issues with her mother’s accession of South African citizenship. It was said that the Department of Home Affairs planned to take further action which may have included potential criminal charges based on the investigation’s findings.
