#ENDSARS:I need to tell my children l was part of history — DJ Cuppy declares

Florence Otedola, popular disc jockey better known as DJ Cuppy, has finally joined the #EndSARS protest.

TheNewsGuru recalls that the 27-year-old disc jockey had earlier faced a frenzied backlash from Nigerians on social media for being absent at the protests against the special anti-robbery squad (SARS).

At that time, she defended her absence at the protests, explaining that she was in isolation after returning from a trip overseas.

She however stunned many of her fans when she joined other #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos on Friday.

The disc jockey, in a post on her social media pages on Sunday, said her decision to join the protest was not to please people but to participate in a course aimed at fostering a better society.

“On Friday I went to protest not to please people but because I need to tell my children that I was part of history,” she wrote on Twitter.

“Lazy Nigerian youth are changing this country for generations to come and as a 27-year-old, I couldn’t be prouder… An experience I will never forget!#EndSARS”
