Nigerian actress Bimbo Ademoye has received a response from Ghana’s Minister of Communication, Ursula Owusu Ekuful was not mentioned however a different minister Sam George was, regarding her concerns about copyright infringement.
The actress, had taken to social media to express her frustration over a Ghanaian YouTube channel allegedly using her movie, “Broken Hallelujah,” without her permission.
According to Bimbo Ademoye, two Ghanaian channels, Nollynew series TV and Nolly Specials, had uploaded her movie without her consent, using her title and poster.
The actress emphasized that she would not tolerate the unauthorized use of her intellectual property, stating, “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!… My blood, sweat, tears, hard work, money, sleepless nights will not be enjoyed by someone else!”
The issue gained the attention of Ghana’s Minister of Communication, Sam George, who responded to Bimbo Ademoye’s post. In his words, “My attention has been drawn to your post thanks to the tag. I would be raising the issue with my Colleague Minister responsible for overseeing television content.” The minister assured the actress that the Ghanaian government respects intellectual property rights and would ensure the protection of same.
Sam George further expressed his desire for Ghana and Nigeria to collaborate on issues of mutual benefit, highlighting the potential for cooperation between the two countries.
