Health challenges: ‘I didn’t menstruate for four years’— former BBNaija housemate, Uriel

Former BBNaija housemate,Uriel Oputa, has opened up about her health struggles.

In a conversation with Hero Daniels, the media personality, Uriel disclosed that she faced challenges related to weight.

The reality TV star said her ovarian cysts caused her not menstruate for four years.

Oputa mentioned that a doctor in the UK informed her of her low chances of conceiving.

“Way before I decided to embark on the health journey, I had health challenges. I was a little bit bigger and was burdened with a lot of cysts in my ovaries,” she said.

“I didn’t see my period for almost four years, and I remember going to a doctor in the UK and they told me that there was a high possibility that I would never be able to have children.

“At that time my niece was just born or was two years old and I remember leaving the office feeling like oh, I will never be able to have a child.

“I went into a state of depression, I was so depressed to a point that I couldn’t watch kids on TV. So, it reached the point where I said if I can’t be a mother, I will have my niece as mine.”

Uriel said that because of her family health history, she had to make a change in her lifestyle.

“I come from a family where my mum has high blood pressure and various different things. I really did not want to see myself go down the same route, so I had to make a change,” the reality TV star said.

“I changed the way I ate and I had to incorporate working out. So, it was something I had to do to better my life.”
