Tola Oladokun, a veteran Nollywood actress, has extended appreciation to her younger colleague Funke Akindele for her impact on her career.
The movie star recently spoke about her early struggles, relationship status, and the significant support she has received from an award-winning filmmaker, detailing how they came into contact.
Oladokun disclosed how a filmmaker called Lala, introduced her to Funke during the days of Odun Ifa, when Funke was still learning the ropes in Nollywood.
She added that she could not participate in a film project produced by Funke Akindele, because she was working on another project at the time and could not participate.
Despite that, Funke reached out to her again through Lala and offered her another opportunity. According to her, that marked the beginning of a long-standing working relationship.
“During the days of Odun Ifa, when Funke was still learning the ropes, that was when we first met. She’s always there whenever Yinka calls me for a job, and she’s been calling also since then.
“Lala was the one who introduced her to me, but I wasn’t able to feature in her movie Agbefo because I was on another job. So after she finished the movie, Lala called me again on her behalf, and she’s been calling me to feature in her movies since then, before we did Jenifa,” she said.
