‘I am not interested’- Ibrahim Chatta breaks silence on AMVCA snub

Ibrahim Chatta, a Nigerian filmmaker has addressed his continued exclusion from the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).

The 54-year-old film maker during a recent appearance on skit maker Isbae U’s show, expressing indifference toward the prestigious event,  emphasising that awards are not his primary focus.

“I am not interested, why will I be praying for what I am not interested in? Whenever I am interested, I will submit a film and give it to them to see,” he stated.

Reflecting on the situation, Ibrahim added, “I have thought about it, why don’t they invite me because I see younger people attending and winning. Do you know how many awards are in my house?”

Chatta, who has been a prominent figure in the industry for many years, is known for his important contributions to Yoruba cinema and owns a film town.
