Soulful alternative singer and songwriter, Johnny Drille shot to stardom via his 2016 hit song ‘My beautiful love’ which got the attention of Mavin boss, Don Jazzy.
The Edo State born singer who recently performed at one of the live eviction shows of BBNaija said he would be excited if Wizkid shows interest in his music.
Drille who is a Literature in English graduate said: “I will be really excited if Wizkid shows interest in my music. He just signed a couple of new artistes, amazing. I am now with Mavin Records, I am comfortable and satisfied. Everybody is supporting each other; Jazzy is like the best boss ever. I am not thinking of leaving. If Wizkid brought a contract for Johnny Drille I will probably think about it, but I am happy with Mavin Records” he told Hip Tv.
Johnny Drille music has been inspired by Mumford & Sons, Owl City, Phillip Phillips, Passenger, Jon Bellion, Laura Mvula, Cobhams Asuquo, etc. The talented singer has stated in the past the he hopes to in Nigeria and beyond redefine love songs through his music.
In late 2016 he was nominated at the Headies for Best Alternaive Song for ‘Wait For Me’. On February 28, 2017 Johnny Drille was officially announced as a Mavin Records artiste.
