Iyabo Ojo, Ruth Kadiri, others react to directive to release Baba Ijesha

A number of Nigerian celebrities have voiced their displeasure over the directive to release Nollywood actor, Olarenwaju James, aka Baba Ijesha, who allegedly molested a 14-year-old girl under the care of popular comedienne, Princess.

The Lagos State Police Command had ordered that the suspect be released because there is no defilement case against him, and the court cannot sit due to the ongoing strike by members of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria.

In her reaction, Iyabo Ojo said:” They said he just touched her inappropriately so touching a minor inappropriately is not sexual assault, I weep for this country”.

Another actress and filmmaker, Ruth Kadiri in her reaction said children have no rights in Nigeria.

“In Nigeria, children have no rights, there are no laws guiding them. This is no place to raise your kids. Even the people in power, some of them are pedophiles . Keep your young ones safe. Be guarded”.

A certain user @J_boy86 said: “So Nigeria police all of a sudden knows its not nice to keep someone indefinitely.so Nigeria police now knows what rule of law is e be things”.

@Superliciouskandi wrote:” The footage only showed he touched her body? Are you guys serious? Why would he touch her body? Failed country”.
