Court issues bench warrant as Matharoo sisters ignore order

Kiran and Jyoti Matharoo who were detained in Nigeria failed to show up in court today for allegedly extorting a local billionaire and cyber bullying others . The sisters who were accused of blackmailing Femi Otedola, failed to show up in court for the hearing of their case

The sisters are currently being charged for extortion, cyber-bullying and blackmail . Their alleged collaborator, Babatunde Oyebode, who is also known as Baudex, did appear in court with his legal counsel. When questioned, Oyebode purportedly told the judge that he had no knowledge of the sisters’ whereabouts.

Justice E.A Ojo issued a bench warrant for the Matharoos and placed an order for their sureties to show cause. He also filed for the case to be transferred to the Lagos’ Federal High Court.

Their absence further fuelled rumours that they absconded from the country last week.

The Matharoo sisters are branded for their extravagant lifestyle, which they portray in photos on Instagram.
