Mercy Aigbe urges warring parents to prioritise their children’s well-being

Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe has issued a heartfelt appeal to parents embroiled in custody battles, urging them to put their children’s needs first and prioritize their well-being.
Her message comes after she received a moving email from a father struggling to co-parent with his ex.
The man, who was inspired by Mercy’s movie “Ada Omo Daddy,” shared his difficulties in taking care of his child due to his baby mama’s uncooperative behavior. He expressed his desire to provide for his child, but faced numerous challenges from his ex, making it hard for him to fulfill his parental responsibilities.
Mercy, a mother of two herself, responded with empathy and wisdom. She acknowledged the challenges of co-parenting, especially when there’s conflict between parents. However, she emphasized that children suffer the most in custody battles and it’s essential for parents to prioritize their well-being.
Mercy urged parents to rise above their differences and focus on providing a stable and loving environment for their children. She encouraged them to settle their differences amicably, rather than engaging in a tug-of-war that can have long-lasting effects on their children’s emotional and psychological well-being.
