Trap music is a subgenre that originated during the 1990s from Southern hip hop in the Southern United States. It is typified by its ominous lyrics and sound that incorporate double or triple-time sub-divided hi-hats, heavy kick drums from a Roland TR-808 synthesizer, layered synthesizers, and “cinematic” strings. The term “trap” initially referred to places where drug deals take place. In recent years it has been incorporated with electronic dance music (EDM) by artists who have remixed and made trap songs with more EDM-like aspects.

However , some fans think he would have done better with the song. Jeff Wizzy wrote:”Dbanj would have featured Wizkid on this. Wizkid would have done better”.

A fan who pleaded anonymity said D’banj has lost his groove , though El-Chapo has a nice hook. “I must admit, the song does have a catchy hook, but it hurts me to reiterate that D’banj has lost it or maybe his style of music is suited only to Don Jazzy’s beat. You’re a few songs away from a ‘Major Comeback Hit’ cos this is not it. #PainedFan”.
