Two individuals, Saheed Jamiu (also known as Osama) and Uyime Godwin Udoekwere, has been remanded in prison for accusing Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late singer Mohbad, of murder.
TheNewsGuru reports that the police arraigned the duo before Justice Ibrahim Kala of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday, accusing them of conspiracy, cyberstalking, and defamation.
According to the charge, they carried out the act in early July 2025 by holding a placard in Ikeja, Lagos, with words that alleged Wunmi was responsible for Mohbad’s death.
The police added that the same message was shared across their social media accounts.
The prosecution explained that the action violated sections of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015. Both men pleaded not guilty.
Their lawyer asked the court to release them on bail, saying they would not tamper with the case, but the judge refused and asked that a formal bail request be made.
He then directed that they be held at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre until the court hears their bail plea.
The case has been postponed until September 25 when the trial is expected to begin.
Since Mohbad’s sudden death in September 2023, his wife Omowunmi has been targeted online by those accusing her of playing a role in his passing.
In an interview last October, she denied the claims and said her husband faced pressure and threats before he died.
