Nigerians’ cycle of struggle abroad – AY Comedian shares interesting experience

Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, known as AY, has shared his thoughts on the motivations behind Nigerians traveling abroad in search of better opportunities.

AY, who recently surprised his daughter abroad on her birthday, observed that many individuals sell their properties in Nigeria to relocate overseas, hoping to secure a more stable and prosperous life.

However, he noted that upon arrival, they often find themselves taking on multiple jobs to make ends meet, struggling to adapt to a new environment, and facing numerous challenges. Ironically, AY pointed out that many of these individuals eventually send money back to Nigeria to purchase land, effectively repeating a cycle.

AY posed a question to his fans, asking them to explain the reasoning behind this phenomenon, which seems to be a common experience for many Nigerians. His commentary highlights the complexities and challenges faced by Nigerians seeking better lives abroad.

Here is his post: “Nigerians abroad are working so hard doing multple jobs to buy land back home, while Nigerians back home are selling their lands to relocate abroad  so they can do 3 jobs to buy land again in Nigeria. Please explain to me what type of cycle is this?”
