..Loses baby subsequently
Kenyan actress, Maureen Wanza bled to death during child birth at a private clinic in Kilifi County on Tuesday.
She was known for her roles in television productions such as Sumi and Almasi, among others. Maureen was rushed to a private hospital after developing complications.
CEO of Ashiners Films, Ann Harmburg confirmed that Wanza’s baby was also lost.
According to her: “It was an emergency. While at the facility, her situation worsened as she gave birth. She bled to death. Unfortunately, her baby also died minutes later.”
Ken Ambani, another actor said: “It’s sad not only to me as a friend but to the entire acting industry fraternity.”
On his social media page, Gerald Langiri wrote: “Maureen will be best remembered for her role as Sasha in the swahili program Sumu which she got nominated for best lead actress in a TV drama at Kalasha awards 2015.”
Her demise comes at a time when nurses and doctors in Kenya are on a strike that has lasted for 106 days.
