Nigerian singer, Runtown has averred that he wrote and produced ‘Aye’for Davido.
The 31-year-old made this statement in a tweet after a fan asked him who wrote the song on Wednesday.
He also said there is nothing wrong in an artiste using song writers.
“I wrote it. And also co-produced it. Nothing wrong in using song writers if you write song for me and I like am I go sing am,” he said.
TheNewsGuru recalls that Davido had in March told DJ ECool during an Instagram Live chat that Runtown wrote ‘Aye’.
In times past artistes like Peruzzi, Adekunle Gold, Teni and others had written songs for the self-proclaimed ‘OBO’.
Peruzzi wrote ‘Assurance’ for Davido, while Adekunle Gold and Teni wrote ‘1 mill’ and ‘Like Dat’ for him respectively.
Davido is one pop star who doesn’t hide the fact that he employs the expertise of songwriters. He gives credits via social media, publicly declaring that music for him is a business, and he employs people to help complement his efforts with their writing.
