Nollywood actor and comedian, Okon Lagos, whose real name is Imeh Bishop Umoh, has urged Nigerian president, President Bola Tinubu to redirect the factories of victimized luxury brands to Nigeria following the imposition of trade tariffs on Chinese products by the US President, Donald Trump.
Recall, U.S. President Donald Trump recently announced a 245 per cent tariff on all Chinese imports into the U.S. as the trade war between both countries continues to escalate.
The move comes after China retaliated with an 84 per cent tariff on American goods in response to an earlier 104 per cent tariff imposed by the U.S., reports CNN.
Reacting to the development, the comic actor, via his Instagram stories on Wednesday pleaded with the president to take advantage of the trade war between US and China, by redirecting affected factories to the country.
He wrote: “President Tinubu, please take advantage of this US-China trade war. Redirect the factories of victimized luxury brands to Nigeria. Aba, Kano, Uyo PH will be ready.
“We have the cheapest labour in the world and we are a staggering 200 plus million hardworking good people! Tinubu oo. Take advantage.”
