Patrick Doyle, the Veteran Nollywood actor, has called out Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, over the type of chair he used while addressing the media on Thursday.
TheNewsGuru reports that the former Rivers governor while addressing the media, sat on a large, gold-trimmed seat which many likened to a royal throne.
Reacting, the veteran actor expressed concern over Wike’s decision to use such a luxurious chair, saying it reflects how some public officials see themselves.
He warned that these public displays of wealth and status by politicians could create more distance between the government and the citizens.
“If this isn’t a throne I wonder what is. Why on earth would a minister of the Nigerian state mount a throne to address Nigerians. This is a sign of the psychosis afflicting Nigerian political office holders, delusion of grandeur”, he wrote on Facebook.
