Popularly known as Laila, Edo State-born Jemima Osunde is one of the rising actresses in Nollywood at the moment.
The svelte role interpreter who is popular for her role in MTVShuga series has shared how she combines being a final year student of Physiotherapy and also being an actress.
Speaking in a chat with TVC Entertainment, she said: ”I started acting in my second year in the university. It’s the best of both worlds I enjoy when I am on set and I enjoy when I am in school.I have worked out a very tight schedule so If I am not at work, I am at school”.
When asked to state the biggest lesson she has learnt in Nollywood, she said: ”You have to work at it, Rome wasn’t built in a day. You need work at it. You need to be consistent, you need to be consistent, you cannot just expect that because you have some perks, you are light skinned and pretty, it will be easy for you”.
Jemima also revealed that she has been turned at some auditions. She particularly emphasized on one that made her sad.
She said: ”It’s a series called Castle and Castle, while they were shooting that, I had to be out of the country. I couldn’t even make it to the auditions because I was shooting Shuga. I sent in an audition video thinking that they will just pardon me and forgive me. I didn’t get the role. Do you know how many people are out there to take the job from you? You need to give everyone the reason why you have to be the one they use”.
