Since its premiere in 2017, Battleground has thrilled its audience with reliable characters, addictive storylines, and incredible plot twists. Now, they’re switching it up again by adding a fun, feisty character Anu Sobowale, who will be played by award-winning singer and songwriter Waje.
It’s exciting watching Waje step out of her persona and assume a new one for television, and you can expect a masterful balance of pure joy, energy, and sass as she brings Anu Sobowale to life.
Waje, whose vocal range covers three octaves, pursued her passion for music while studying Social work at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Her zeal led her to perform for free in many shows, school concerts and fellowships.
In 2011, Waje won the award for Best Female Vocalist at the Headies and The Nigerian Entertainment Awards. She also won the Best African Act at DEAFA Afro-Europe awards.
