Why I did not panic during chaotic stage collapse a Lagos show – Odumodublvck opens up

Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck has broken his silence following the stage collapsed incident which occurred during his performance at SoL Beach, Elegushi area of Lagos State on December 21, 2024.

TheNewsGuru.com learnt that the event, powered by Nativeland, turned chaotic after the structure collapsed while the rapper was entertaining fans, causing panic among attendees.

Following the stage collapse, concerned netizens flooded social media, praying for the safety of the performers and team members.

In an interview with HIPTV, Odumodublvck reflected on the chaotic event, emphasising his unshaken faith.

“For some reason, I wasn’t scared and I didn’t panic because God is always in me and for some reason, I didn’t panic at all,” he said.

The 31-year-old noted that mishaps like the stage collapse should not be blamed on a single entity, as  organising large-scale such events involves complexities.

Situations like that can be avoided, and I think the company that hosted the show, which is Native, released a statement that they’re carrying out investigations with the stage and production company,” Odumodublvck explained.

“People don’t know things like this. When they say come and do shows, there’s a production company, light people, sound people and security.”

He further clarified: “People think it’s just one person, but it’s good to educate people that there are different factions of this thing to put up a show.

“You can’t really point fingers at one person or everyone for one person’s mistake. All in all, we thank God nobody died, and the casualties have been taken care of to the best of my knowledge.”
