Western Digital on Thursday has launched a new storage drive known as SanDisk Dual Drive to help smartphone users free up space and manage their photos, videos and files across their favourite mobile devices.
TheNewsGuru reports the SanDisk Dual Drive, which ranges from 16GB to 128GB in capacity, is a mobile storage pen drive designed for Android smartphone users who find themselves needing some extra storage on-the-go.
“With the increasing smartphone penetration in the rural and urban markets, there is an increased need for easy data transfer solutions.
“Our endeavour is to deliver the best and the most reliable products to consumers. The new SanDisk Dual Drive is yet another testimony of our commitment to consumers.
“Paired with the SanDisk Memory Zone app, we have an excellent solution to help users free up space and manage their photos, videos and files across their favourite devices,” said Khalid Wani, a Managing Director at Western Digital.
The SanDisk Dual Drive promises to make data transferring a piece of cake for Android users as it features both Micro-USB and USB connectors, making it easier to transfer content and manage files between different devices.
However, the pen drives are only compatible with Android smartphones that support USB with OTG.
The company believes the pen drives will come in handy for quick data transfer to easily free up storage on smartphones.
Consumers for the SanDisk Dual Drive will need to download an accompanying SanDisk Memory Zone app to be able to backup their gallery and manage files and media.
Western Digital says the redesigned app now includes an aggregated view of all content, a new timeline based photo browser, an integrated video and music player, and built-in file compression and decompression capabilities.
Additionally, the app also lets users backup photos, contacts and content from social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.
The SanDisk Dual Drive comes in four storage options of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
