Social networking sites in Nigeia have been abuzz with election jokes following the victory of former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku in the just concluded presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP – a feat that sets him as the major challenger to President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 general election.
Abubakar defeated 11 other aspirants on Sunday to clinch the keenly-contested ticket and his victory has since sparked ‘campaign-fever’ among political netizens as the country prepares to elect a new leader come 2019.
While some of the trending conversations are pro-Atiku, others appear to favour the incumbent government[ Buhari] and some of the remarks also lampooned other political candidates, parties who have failed to get the national attention both the APC, PDP have drawn in the meantime.
