Pastor Jerry Eze faces backlash for commissioning former first lady’s hotel

Nigerian pastor and founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze has come under criticism following the crucial role he played in an opening ceremony of a hotel in Abuja.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that renowned businessman Obi Cubana, recently shared a video unveiling an exclusive look into the opening ceremony of a grand hotel owned by former Nigerian First Lady, Patience Jonathan.

The event was star studded following the attendence of influential politicians and celebrated entrepreneurs. Pastor Jerry Eze was in attendance as well.

Pastor Jerry Eze being known for his fiery sermons and spiritual leadership, took center stage, leading the guests in prayers as he commissioned the new hotel declaring it open for business.

Reacting, outspoken critic, Ossai Ovie Success via Facebook criticize the pastor for commissioning the hotel.

He stated that pastors should stay away from commissioning or establishing hotels, questioning the compatibility between their calling with an industry that often caters to morally questionable acts.

He expressed concerns over the reputation of hotels as spaces that foster adultery and immorality, and as such religious leaders and practitioners who align themselves with such enterprises may be endorsing actions that clash with their spiritual and biblical teachings.

“I think Pastors should stop building hotels or opening hotels built by people because 95% of hotel users are there for fornication and adultery and it contradict Christian values.

“So Pastors should rethink hotel investments, considering the high percentage of users engaging in immoral activities. When a pastor goes to commission a hotel , he prays for more customers to patronize the hotel so the hotel can grow bigger and bigger.

“The customers coming to the hotel , 95% of them are for fornication and adultery” Ossai wrote.
