Akinsola Akin, the personal assistant to the chairman of Nigerians in diaspora commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa has given reason why Seyi Tinubu was named after a major road in Sokoto.
TheNewsGuru.com recall that the Sokoto state Governor Ahmad Aliyu came under heavy criticisms for naming a road in the state after President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
The commissioning of the road formerly called Pepsi Road was supposed to be held over the weekend by Katsina State Governor Umaru Radda but was postponed.
However, a photo of the renamed road, “Seyi Ahmed Bola Tinubu Road,” went viral on social media on Saturday.
The governor was heavily criticized for the move on social media.
Reacting to the backlash, Akinsola via the microblogging platform, X formerly Twitter defended governor Ahmad Aliyu, highlighting Seyi’s impact to society even before his father became president.
His post reads: “Mr Seyi Tinubu (@STINUBU) is a philanthropist even before his dad became president. He has given out hundreds of wheel chairs to people. Cars too.”
