New invitee, Gift Orban has been ruled out of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sao Tome and Principe today in Uyo.
It was gathered that the Gent forward missed the team’s last training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Saturday night.
The 21-year-old sustained an injury in the Super Eagles’ training session on Friday.
Orban watched from the sidelines as his teammates slugged it out on the pitch ahead of the game.
The prolific forward would have to wait a bit longer before making his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The other new invitees, Victor Boniface and Jordan Torunarigha, are in line to debut against the True Patriots.
The match against Sao Tome and Principe is the last of the AFCON 2024 qualifying series.
