Adamawa Senator confirms death of Jibril Aminu

The Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District at the National Assembly (NASS), Reverend Amos Yohanna has confirmed the passing of one time Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum and Ambassador to the United States of America (USA), Prof. Jibril Aminu.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Senator Yohanna to have said the death of Aminu at 85 years is not only “a great loss to Adamawa State but to Nigeria as a whole”.

“It is with deep sadness and a profound sense of loss that I, on behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Adamawa North Senatorial District, extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Professor Jibril Aminu, the government and people of Adamawa State, and the entire nation on the passing of this towering figure.

“Professor Jibril Aminu was not only a renowned academic and respected statesman but also a beacon of excellence whose legacy will remain etched in the annals of our national history. His contributions to Nigeria’s education, health, and petroleum sectors, as well as his diplomatic and legislative service, speak volumes of a life devoted to nation-building.

“From serving as Vice Chancellor, Minister, Ambassador, to Senator, Professor Aminu embodied selfless leadership, intellectual depth, and uncommon patriotism. His death is not only a great loss to Adamawa State but to Nigeria as a whole.

“As we mourn this irreparable loss, I pray that the Almighty grants his soul eternal rest and give his family the strength to bear this great pain. May his legacy continue to inspire generations to come. Adieu, Professor Jibril Aminu,” Yohanna wrote.
