Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye on Monday reportedly escaped assassination in Lokoja, the state capital.

The Senator who fingered the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as sponsoring the attacks and his recall from the Senate made the disclosure via his twitter handle @dino_melaye

He stated that two people in his convoy were hit and are already receiving treatments at an undisclosed hospital. The Senator stated that his bullet proof car made it difficult for the bullets fired at him to penetrate. He also acknowledged the help of some DSS officials who came to his rescue.

He however maintained that he will not be intimidated from speaking for the people whom he said are feeling the pains of the economic hardship in the state (Kogi) under the Governor Yahaya Bello led administration

TheNewsGuru.com reports that Melaye had in April allegedly narrowly escaped death after gunmen invaded his country home in Ayetoro-Gbede area of the state.
