The Chief of Staff to the AGN National President, Ifeoma Okeke, in a statement on Monday, disclosed that the Guild strongly condemned Igwe’s actions, describing them as unprofessional and contrary to the ethical standards expected of members of the acting community.

Following our preliminary investigation into the allegation of violence leveled against actress Shirley Igwe on a film set in Lagos, the National Executive Council has resolved to place her on an indefinite suspension,” the statement read in part.

The AGN emphasised that the decision was based on Igwe’s “unprofessional misconduct, violence, and indiscipline, actions capable of bringing the profession to disrepute.”

The Guild further directed all its members to desist from participating in any film production involving Shirley Igwe until further notice.

Additionally, the AGN has called on Igwe to tender a public apology to the assaulted crew member.
