The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has come under heavy criticisms following photos from his recent engagement in China.
TheNewsGuru reports that the former Rivers governor met with officials from the China Geoengineering Corporation Overseas Construction (CGCOC) Group to ensure the provision of water for satellite towns in the FCT
Following a successful meeting with the Chinese officials of the China Geoengineering Corporation, the FCT minister shared photos with one of his son, captioning it,“Today, I met with officials of the CP Group. The meeting is part of our official engagements in China, aimed at ensuring provision of water and other infrastructures for Satellite Towns in the FCT.”
The photos did not sit well with many Nigerians on the microblogging platform, X who condemned the Nigerian minister for engaging official govt business with his son.
One user, Hon Henry Shield commented: “Wike went to China to discuss official govt business. Guess the only govt Official he took official pictures with? His son. Yeah, you read that right, his freaking son!!! APC needs to die!!!”
Another user, Anomaly wrote: “Monarchy! So, his son made the trip on government budget. All these taxes and levies they keep increasing is to ensure the “monarchy” is well-nourished. That, and of course to reduce the purchasing power of the people. If we’re so focused on fighting to survive, you can’t oppose.”
One user, Tobi Akinbo J. remarked: “He’s training his sons to become lord of Rivers state after him na, he knew exactly what he’s doing.”
Another user, Áyódòmį Ikákunmi Stone wrote: “Diplomacy so elite, even family members are now foreign delegates. At this point, APC isn’t running a government, they’re running a family reunion tour. Incredible scenes.”
One GBEMISOLA CFC wrote: “They’re grooming their children to take over from where they’ll stop looting while voluntary slaves will be here depending them.”
FO wrote: “Honourable Minister, sir,Is the young man standing next to you an FCT official or CP Group official? Thank you.”
