A group of thugs, estimated to be over 300 reportedly invaded the Labour Party (LP) Secretariat in the Ikeja GRA area of Lagos on Monday, carting away millions of Naira in cash and looting other valuables.
According to eyewitnesses and staff members at the secretariat , the attackers, stormed the building at approximately 10 a.m, overpowering security and damaging offices within the premises.
The thugs allegedly made away with sensitive party documents, electronics, and an undisclosed sum of money believed to run into millions of Naira.
Although police officers were said to have arrived shortly after the assailants dispersed, no arrests were made at the scene. Authorities have since confirmed the incident and assured the public that a full-scale investigation is underway.
In a statement, the Lagos State Police Command condemned the attack and emphasized that efforts are ongoing to track down the individuals responsible.
