BREAKING: Ademola Lookman crowned Africa’s best footballer

Nigeria’s Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman has been crowned the best footballer in Africa after winning the CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Lookman won the CAF Men’s Player of the Year Award for 2024 on Monday in the city of Marrakesh in Morocco.

Lookman succeeds his national teammate, Victor Osimhen to become the sixth Nigerian player in history to win the African footballer of the year award.

“This award today is a blessing to me, to my family, and to my nation. To be recognised as the best player in Africa is something incredible, and I am extremely proud of it. Just over four years ago, I failed in front of the world and fast forward four years, I am the best player in Africa.

“I want to say to the young children, and people watching this, I want to say don’t let your failures weigh you down that they break your wings. Turn your pain into your power and continue to fly,” he said after receiving the award.

TNG reports Lookman defeated Ronwen Williams, Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy and Achraf Hakimi to win the best African player of 2024.
