Daughter of former Governor James Ibori of Delta State, Erthiatake Ibori-Suenu has defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports Erthiatake defected to the APC along with four other lawmakers from the Labour Party as announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Thursday.
The four Labour Party House of Representative members, who joined Ibori’s daughter to defect to the APC, are: Tochukwu Okere (Imo), Donatus Mathew (Kaduna), Bassey Akiba (Cross River) and Iyawe Esosa (Edo).
Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, announced the defection of the lawmakers on the floor of the green chamber on Thursday.
The Labour Party has been marred with crisis after the 2023 election with some chieftains leaving the party.
